Congrats Caitlin and Dustin!!!

In the past few years, my husband and I have attended about 15 weddings~ all friends or family from his side! I was SOOOOOO excited when Caitlin (one of my dear friends) announced her engagement and even more excited that she was joining in on the wonderful world of weddings and marriage! Caitlin and I grew up next door to each other and have known each other for over 20 years. There is nothing more special than seeing a childhood friend getting married! Caitlin has asked me to be a part of her day by doing her hair and make-up, however being 9 months pregnant I knew it wouldn't be the smartest idea incase our little girl came early! I turned her over to Belen and Amy who left Caitlin and her girls in good hands. Caitlin just got married this past Saturday and within 12 hours, Don from D.Bryant already had some sneak peak photos up! Talk about good service!!! Amazing talent~ the ceremony was perfect, the reception lived up to her family's reputation of having a blast and throwing a good party! Congrats Cait~ I'm so happy for you and Dustin and am so glad we were able to attend your gorgeous wedding! Beat 2 Beat DJs also provided exceptional music for dinner and dancing!  As I usually do, I stole these photos from Don's blog! 

A detail shot of Amy's work! Caitlin opted for lashes and they looked amazing! Not only do they photography beautifully, but when I was talking to Cait at her reception they just added the extra WOW to her eyes!

Cait had quite a large wedding party! It was really special that I knew each of these girls! Between her 2 sisters, girls we went to school with, and past brides of Up-Do's, it was great to see them all lined up and cheering Caitlin on! She is surrounded by some the sweetest ladies!

Don~ It was great to see you and Jill as usual!!! Great work and a pleasure to work alongside you in the wedding industry! Dan~ Great job djing!!!! You really know how to keep the dance floor packed!

A few more winter weddings......

On March 14th, I headed to one of my favorite hotels in DC ~ Hotel Monaco to help Jessica and her girls get ready. We ended up changing her hairstyle from what we did at the trial and I'm so glad we did. After seeing Jessica's gorgeous gown, this simple yet elegant bun/chignon fit her style perfectly! I had so much fun with these girls and her Grandmother was such a hoot! She reminded me of what my Mom will be to be daughter one day. She brought a whole bag of glitter and sparkly accessories! Too fun! Congrats Jessica! Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of your day! You look stunning in these pictures by Baltazar Photography! 

Back in February, Mindy and Cara helped the dreams come true of Shannon and Kevin. Shannon was the lucky bride who won Fox 45's Wedding Contest! She won the wedding of her dreams for FREE!!!! Viewers picked her dress, flowers, cake, and other items that made up her wedding! The wedding was aired lived on T.V. and on Fox 45. Shannon passed some of the photos on to us to see how the early morning wedding turned out! Here are a few of Mindy and Cara helping Shannon get ready! Congrats Shannon and Kevin.

Valentine's Day!!

I can't think of a more perfect date to get married than Valentine's Day!!! I love the idea that this Feb. 14th bride, Daniele (with one L) used balloons for her wedding day! Her fabulous photog ~ Kathy Blanchard has such a great style of wedding photography!!! Enjoy a few sneak peaks from Daniele's Wedding day!

Congrats Heather!!!

I realize that my posts are totally out of order for when these girls get married but I figured blog readers don't care! They just want to see the photos :) As a hairstylist I am usually in and out and never get to see the flowers, the dress, the cake, the dance, etc......so I was very happy when Heather shared her March 8th Wedding Photos with me! Heather's style was so elegant and classic. I loved every aspect of her wedding and you can really tell the detail and attention that went into her planning.

Behind the Scenes!!!

I guess in this case~ better late then never!!! A few months ago, myself (Ashley), Nathaniel, Rissa, and Brittany of Balance Photography, and Carole of A Garden of Earthly Delights met in Florida to do some awesome shooting! Usually I just post the photos of our actual work but thought to switch it up and show the opposite side! You can actually see us working and having a great time during the 2 LONG shoot days!!!

Here is Carole working her magic! She makes it looks so easy! Her creative ideas are just incredible!

Nathaniel and I were able to sit back and relax~ Carole had to start a day early since the flowers needed to be pre-assembled! 

This just cracked me up! The fridge was full of flowers! NOTE: Something new I learned~ don't keep strawberries in the fridge with flowers! Something toxic about them can harm the flowers! Coke is ok :)

The best feeling was being outside comfortably in March!

Rissa came along a bit later and graced us with her smiling face!

This would be departure day :( Very sad to leave but also very happy to be finished with our very productive fun shoots!

Here are a few more photos of recent brides! I spent a morning in April with Michelle! I think it is so cool she wore her Mom's veil! She is having a larger reception next October in Baltimore and I'll be a part of that as well! Congrats Michelle! Her photographer was the talented Arthur Remanjon! 

Mindy went and spent the day with Maggie and her girls! They had a blast and Maggie just looks amazing! Loved what Mindy did with her hair! Congrats Maggie!
