Vendor Highlight: Allison Barnhill Designs

Tell us about your company:  Allison Barnhill Designs specializes in couture wedding and special event invitations and coordinating accessories. We combine your vision with our passion for design to create truly unique stationery for the most important events in your life.

What makes you different?  We are not the typical invitation studio with books that you look through and pick the invite that matches your wedding best.  We actually start from scratch with every client and create the perfect wedding stationery for your wedding.  You pick the colors, the fonts, the cardstock, the ribbon...everything!  So, your wedding invitation and other paper is like no other!  Your vision becomes a couture creation that gives your guests a little taste of what to expect on your big day.

How long have you been in the industry?  As of January 1st of 2012, I have been in wedding stationery business for 10 years!  A decade of creating amazing stationery for thousands of brides...now, that is definitely exciting for all of us at Allison Barnhill Designs.

What inspires you to do what you love? Simply said...my clients.  I have met with so many special, artistic, fun, amazing and wonderful brides, grooms and families.  These clients come in with their own thoughts and visions, and excitement for their big day.  Their excitement inspires me to create special and unique just for them!

What is the best way for brides to contact you? Email or phone both work great!  But, I have to admit that you will find me on email at all hours, so if you are looking for a quick response, sometimes email is the best!  Our website, blog and Facebook page have lots of pictures, information and designs too!

Do you offer services other than bridal or wedding services?  While weddings are near and dear to our hearts, we love all of life's celebrations...baby showers and announcements, bridal showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and gifts.  If it is paper, we love it!

Feature: Fox 45 Morning News

This morning we had the honor of representing the upcoming Baltimore Bridal Show! We displayed our best talents at Fox 45 with three lovely ladies.
Lindsay and Crystal have happy smiles even though it is before 8am!

 Ashley working on Laura's hair.
We were thrilled to find out that the Chick-Fil-A cow was hanging out in the lobby. We stalked causally asked if we could get a quick photo.
...and of course we had to tidy up her bow and lashes before she made her Fox 45 debut.
 Lindsay is back to business.
Beth putting the final touches on Kaitlin's lashes.
 ...and a round of lipgloss.
We really liked Paul our camera guy!
First up, an interview with Megan Gilliland.
...and Ashley seems a little too exxxxcited about being on TV.
 Beth's work is spotlighted beautifully!
Now, into the studio we go!
We loved our interview with Patrice Harris. We even got the inside scoop of the details for her October wedding!
Don't forget to come see us this weekend at the Baltimore Convention Center Feb 4th and 5th! It's a show you don't want to miss!

Feature: Baltimore Bride Spring/Summer 2012

Last month Mindy and Ashley had the distinct pleasure of making over the little ladies and gents at Caroline's Cupcakery. Check out some of the behind the scene pics. Spending the morning with tot-sized models was certainly different from our everyday bride. With goldfish and juice in hand, the little models loved sitting in our chairs and getting dolled up for their spread in

We picked up a copy and were thrilled to see a two page spread with the petite models showing off our hairstyles. Check out the published photos by Mary from Love Life Images. Thanks to Janelle at Baltimore Bride for inviting us! We had a blast!

We LOVE a good BY: line :)

Dream Team: Studio Meeting

Each artist piled into our studio, one by one. With pizza, conversation hearts, pen and paper in hand, we were ready to get the night going! After discussing our goals and plans for the next year, we had a little fun! Everyone had to grab their purse and pull out all of their lipglosses, lipsticks or lipliners.
Can you guess who won?

Beth had 9!
 Natasha didn't have enough....
 Sadly Sara didn't either....
...and the winner is Steffani who had a whopping 11 lipglosses in her purse.
She is now the official owner of 12 lipglosses as she added her favorite Up-Do's For I Do's lipgloss to her collection.
...moving forward we made Valentine's Day cards for a very special group of kids of at the Hugs and Hope organization. If you have a chance, make something special and mail it their way!

...one last raffle...We wonder if Sara won her scratch off!
After a fun evening together, we are so thankful for such an awesome job and for allowing our brides to give us a reason for waking up each morning! Stay tuned for more photos from our night!

What's Up? Weddings Bridal Expo

This past Sunday we were two places at once! Mindy held down our booth in Alexandria, VA and said the show was amazing with tons of wonderful brides.

From an inquiry we received within 24 hours:
"I spoke with some of your associates at the Washington DC Great Bridal Expo yesterday, January 22. I am hoping to get some information on your pricing! Looking forward to working with you, your booth was really great yesterday. Thanks!"

Ashley and Julie stayed local and spent the afternoon at the What's Up? Weddings Bridal Expo in Annapolis at the Double Tree Hotel

 Gorgeous design by Intrigue Designs

The girls at Allison Barnhill Designs :)

Sarah and Melissa over at Intrigue thought it would be fun to make 2 different designs but incorporating the same tulips. There would be a good girl design and a bad girl design? Can you guess who got what?

Allison Barnhill Designs received the "good girl" design and....

we received the "bad girl" design. Luckily, this only meant that the "bad girl" designs matched our company colors and we weren't truly the bad girls. Thanks again Sarah and Melissa for the pretty flowers!
