Allison ~ September 12th

I apologize that these posts are out of order. I actually have no organization in which they are posted which is very unlike my organized self. However, I just get excited when I get new pictures and then I post them as soon as I have a free second.

Danielle and I traveled over to Kent Island to help Allison and her girls get ready. We had way too much fun with this bridal party. We left after a few hours from the Hilton Garden Inn and our faces were sore from laughing so hard! We are always fortunate and blessed to be invited to be a part of the bride's wedding day. We know that the getting ready moments are the last few hours the bride is a single gal. We love to be there for support and to make those last few hours calming, relaxing and unforgettable.

A simple side bun is new trend that we are seeing often! It is such a soft simple look. Perfect for bridesmaids!
I love Allison's romantic look! I bet you would never guess that we had added hair extensions and applied eyelashes! See how natural they look! Both the extensions and lashes enhance her natural beauty!

I personally enjoyed this wedding party because each girl let me work with their natural hair texture and allowed me to bring our their best features. Looking at the photo below you can really see how each girl has their own personality and it's shown with their hairstyle! You can also see how fun bridesmaid Tee (far left) is. She really made the preparation time memorable for us!
...and no one appreciates the girls walking away more than a hairstylist! I love how you can see their styles!
Thanks to the fabulous Don from D.Bryant for sharing your talent and photos with us!

November 14 ~ Mary

Have you ever walked into a room and could predict that you were going to have a lot of fun?

Well, Danielle and I did just that as we entered Mary's bridal suite at the Loews Hotel in Annapolis.  Also, Mary loves big hair! Here I'm prepping her hair for a full long lasting voluminous style!

The final product! Love the colors Danielle picked out for her eyes!
Here is her flawless hairstyle. Big hair photographs amazing!

Julie ~ September 26th

I often think about why I love what I do so much. It's families like Julie's that really make me love being a part of a wedding, a family and a lifetime of memories!

When Julie told me she was engaged, I was thrilled that we could finally do her hair and make-up as a bride! She had been a bridesmaid in her cousins and sister's weddings so I was so happy for her when she told me it was her turn! It makes me smile when I'm with these girls and their parents. I really feel like the long lost sister. It's been even more fun watching their family grow as the babies come along! I 100% enjoy watching our previous brides bring little ones into the world! It is such a blessing!

Of course we have to mention Beat 2 Beat DJs as they rocked the dance floor! Don't forget about their current special with Up-Do's For I Do's! Book both companies and get $100 off your DJ package!

Here is Julie with her sisters! We've done all three of their weddings!
Here is Julie with her girls!
I couldn't end this blog post without a shout out to Peter. Peter makes the best brownies on the Earth! I especially look forward to the brownies. As the girls of this family are all almost married, I'm thinking we will have to plan brownie parties just so I can visit with the family! So let's get on that Peter!

A message from Julie:
Ashley has done several wedding for my friends and family over the last few years and every time I see her I become more and more impressed with her work.   Ashley and her team are great!  I enjoyed having them apart of my special day.  Ashley did the hair for my wedding (she has done make-up for me as well and it is awesome) and it looked absolutely amazing.  I received so many compliments.  She did my entire bridal party (7) in under 3 hours and my girls were so happy.  Danielle did  such a wonderful job with the make-up.  All the girls loved the way they looked.  Again, the service was done quickly.  My make-up was perfect!  I loved the way I looked and was sad when I had to wash it off.  I would recommended Up Do’s for I Do’s to ANY ONE who is getting married.  There really is no reason to look for another company.  THIS IS THE BEST ONE!

Desiree ~ August 22st

Flash back to warm weather!!! We headed to Desiree's on the morning of August 22nd! The weather was warm with a big chance for rain! Desiree and I had a lot of fun through her planning  process. We kept in touch and really made sure all of her hair and make-up details were perfect! I even got to meet the groom (which never happens) and he was soooo sweet! As we were working in her dining room, we could hear his interview with the videographer. It was adorable to hear him talk about how they met, how excited he was for the wedding and how much he loved her!

Her photographer had the coolest name! Inbal More kind of like "In Baltimore!"  So neat :)

Her photos are gorgeous! I loved how all the elements came together!

Chris at Beat2Beat DJs rocked their reception!

A Gazillion Gorgeous Photos....

The talented Don from D.Bryant Photography graciously sent over these photos for Up-Do's to use! So often we never get to see our work at its best (professionally photographed or in person at the event) so needless to say I'm enthusiastic to share these with you!

As I viewed the photos from Kate's September wedding, I felt as though I was there. I left shortly before the girls were headed to ceremony at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. I adored Kate, her bridesmaids, her cute Grandmother and her super sweet Mom. I really could have hung out all day with these girls! The girls prepared for the big day at the Lowe's Hotel. The rooms there are fabulous. I've also felt as though we could provide a second opinion as we tour hotels every weekend! So the Lowe's Hotel gets my vote!

On a quick side note~ I met my family after her wedding at Carol's Creek for brunch. It was delicious and I highly recommend trying it out! It would actually be a great location for a bridal shower! Mmmmm mimosas!

Back to Kate's wedding~ The title of this post, " A Gazillion Gorgeous Photos..." is because I had the most difficult time picking my favorite. Don truly captured some breathtaking shots and they definitely top my all time favorites! The pictures make me want to get married all over again (of course to my sweet husband. I wouldn't switch him for another guy).

Enjoy!

My first hairstyle of the morning! They always put the girls with the most hair first! Gorgeous hair color and perfect hairstyle for her :)

Love the height! It really makes a big difference! We didn't even use a bump-it!
Birdcage veils rock!

I think this picture should be on the cover of a magazine!
How perfect is this? Designer dress, luscious lighting, perfect pose and beautiful bride! Incredible!!!
I love to hear what our brides think after the big day is over and things have settled back in to a normal day pace.

Thank you SO much for making me, my mom, grandmother, and bridesmaids beautiful on my wedding day! We had so much fun getting ready with you in the morning and loved that you came to us so that we never had to leave the hotel room! I was absolutely thrilled with how elegant my hair turned out and our incredible photographs are a living testament to your fabulous work. My hair was spectacular from every angle and it felt and looked perfect from 9am when I sat down in your chair until 11pm when my husband and I finally made it to our honeymoon suite. Despite the classic Annapolis Labor Day heat, humidity, and Severn River breeze, my bridesmaids and I had immaculate up-dos all day long. I cannot thank you enough for all you did to make me feel beautiful on such a meaningful day!

Cheers!
Kate

P.S. Thank you for somehow (miraculously) giving my hair tons of body without teasing it! I was dreading having to take it down at the end of the night but was VERY pleasantly surprised when I took a brush to it. You are the best :)

Sept 26th~ Meg

Whew~ Lots of 2009 weddings to blog about! We love it when our recent brides send us some of their photos! It is so rewarding to see the hairstyles come together with the dress, the flowers and the entire vision our brides have been dreaming of!

On September 26th 2009, Mindy and Danielle headed to the Hilton in Alexandria, Virginia! Meg and her girls looked gorgeous! I LOVE their bouquets! Absolutely stunning and they really pop in the photos! I also love the hairstyle Meg decided on. When she came in for her trial run, she knew exactly what she wanted! Her simple and elegant bun is perfect for her timeless look. I also love the edging along her veil!

In the first photo shown, you'll see a soft braid. This is a really hot new trend that we love! It adds great dimension both in photos and in real life :)
I love the expression Danielle has on her face in this photo. You can tell she truly loves working with each and every one of her brides.

Mindy and Danielle did a great job and the bridesmaids and I were really happy with how everything turned out!  The whole process was so easy and it made the 'getting ready' part of my day very low stress!  My hair and makeup held up all night despite hours on the dance floor! ~ Meg

Wednesday December 30th

Danielle and I headed down to the Governor Calvert House in Annapolis bright and early on Wednesday December 30th! We celebrated the morning with Jessica and her girls! It was a great way to close our 2009 Wedding Season! We had such a blast with this party!

Jessica's Mom is a fabulous travel agent if anyone is looking ~ you can find some more info on her website Travel Bug! Fabulous photos of this event can be found on Wendy's blog :) Gorgeous work Ms. Wendy Hickok! Also, Melody of Historic Events tied all the loose ends together! What a fabulous team of vendors!

Karen ~ Oct 3 2009

To kick off the first weekend in October, I traveled to Annapolis to help Karen and her girls get ready for the big day!  I absolutely love the look Karen went for~ simple yet elegant!  I'm a big fan of "less is more".  She also had a unique hair accessory which was actually a brooch that we bobby-pinned in. Gorgeous!!!

Ashley made a potentially stressful day start incredibly smoothly. She was not only on time, but early and made everyone look and feel beautiful in record time, all the while exuding her fun and friendly personality.

Ashley was so easy to work with - from our initial contact over email to the hair and make-up trial to the big day. She was incredibly prompt and responsive, understood the look that I wanted and perhaps cared more about what I looked like on my wedding day than I did! When my hair wasn't framing my face exactly right, Ashley re-pinned it half a dozen times to make sure we were both happy with it.

Did you miss us at our recent bridal show? Well, we missed you too! To help you out, we've decided to list some of our favorite vendors that were also there with us! As you may notice, there are a few vendors that we talk about quite often! Not only do we love working with these companies, we highly recommend them because we've seen them in action!

SNOW!!!!

Unless you have been living under a rock, you were aware of our recent blizzard that fell on the weekend of December 18-20th. While many people were able to stay in, relax by the fire and have a cup of hot chocolate, the team at Up-Do's were up bright and early to travel to our brides! As a bride, you know the amount of work and planning that goes into a wedding. We knew for sure that our brides would not cancel their dream day affairs! We were so proud to have all of our brides on time and ready to go despite the large amounts of snow falling and sticking to the ground! It's always wonderful to hear back from our clients and our blizzard brides were so wonderful to work with! I can't wait to see their gorgeous winter photos!  Here is what they had to say about us:

Ashley & Erica did an amazing job on the hair and makeup for me, my wedding party, and even some last-minute family members. They were both great to work with, and they made the whole process so much fun - we all had the best time getting ready. We all looked gorgeous when they were finished, and I received so many compliments on my makeup and bridal updo for weeks after the wedding!  Thank you for everything!!"  -- Ashley Daniels Schall 12.18.09

 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I cannot possibly give a high enough recommendation for Ashley and her team!  Since the time Ashley and I scheduled my trial several months ago, she has been professional and accommodating.  My trial went wonderfully and really put my mind to ease.  Ashley was in periodic communication leading up to our wedding day to make sure all my questions were answered and that my bridal party and I would be set the morning of the wedding.

The night before our wedding, the biggest snowstorm in the past 70 years began to hit DC.

While we were at our rehearsal dinner, Ashley left a message on my cell phone saying that she and Erica would still be at the hotel the next morning to do hair and makeup for my bridal party and me.  Ashley said not to worry- that the snow would be beautiful in our pictures and that she would see us in the morning.  Her reassuring voicemail (amidst voicemails from other vendors canceling!) was wonderful.  To have such a talented and sweet team working with us was such a pleasure!

The morning of the wedding, Ashley and Erica arrived EARLY despite the snow emergency in DC.  Their work was truly incredible.  My hair and makeup were better than I could have imagined.  Everyone in my bridal party loved what they had done and everyone’s up-dos and makeup lasted all night – even in the snow!

Ashley and Erica- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

We had a great day and feel so fortunate to have worked with Up Dos for I Do's. Mindy and Danielle were awesome. Not only did they make it out in the crazy weather, but they did an amazing job. Everyone looked and felt great. I couldn't believe my hair and makeup lasted throughout the blizzard and through the entire ceremony, reception, and after party (into the wee hours of the snowstorm). I cannot say enough good things about your services. Thank again for everything!

....and here is a photo because I can only blog if each post has a photo :)

After running around and driving in the snow and ice, we took our little girl outside for her first blizzard! She really didn't know what to think of the snow!
