Vendor Highlight: Wellness by Susan

Last week I had the honor of meeting Susan as she was a part of our Let's Make-Up! class. She offered me a relaxing facial and my experience was so wonderful I thought she would be a perfect fit for our vendor highlight!

Tell us about your company: Wellness By Susan is an aesthetic wellness business serving the Baltimore/Washington DC areas. It's a holistic studio, a refuge to nourish the mind, body and spirit. I offer results-oriented skin wellness therapies in a relaxing environment with a specialty in corrective and preventative treatments that address all skin conditions.

What makes you different? I believe that receiving any skin treatment should be relaxing as well as yield results. All treatments at the wellness studio achieve both. I practice in a peaceful, exclusive home spa where clients are encouraged to breathe deeply, allow themselves to be immersed in positive energy, and realize the full potential of their inner and outer beauty.

How long have you been in the industry? From day spa coordination and personal training, to working in medical aesthetics; my experience in the spa, health & wellness industries spans 15 years. Clients experienced results at the medical spa that were amazing and unmatched by day spa aesthetics, however, the medical industry was sorely lacking the peaceful, serene atmosphere of the day spa. That's when I realized there needed to be a fusing of the two and Wellness by Susan was born.

What inspires you to do what you love? I'm a giver by nature and I get such a kick out of making others feel good. My clients, with whom I pride myself on building a personal connection with, certainly inspire me to further my education in skin wellness and the healing arts so as to continue serving them with my very best. When a bride confidently walks down the aisle exuding her innate beauty, free from the acne or the scarring that plagued her skin for so many years- that to me is inspiration at it's best!
I snapped this photo on my phone as our session was wrapping up. Susan ended my relaxing facial with a glass of water and cucumber, leaving me super refreshed!
What is the best way for brides to contact you? Phone or email is fantastic and they can find all that information on the website. They can also contact me through "liking" the Wellness By Susan Facebook page and that way they'll get news and specials before anyone else!

Do you offer services other than bridal or wedding services? Absolutely! Anyone can benefit from a Skin Wellness Facial. Additional services offered are: Facial & Body Waxing, Lash & Brow Tinting, Herbal Back Treatments (great for those brides with sleeveless or strapless gowns), and Soothing Hand & Foot Rituals. Energy Therapies such as Reiki are soon to come! The website is a great way for people to learn more about treatments offered at the wellness studio.
Who wouldn't love a girl that uses Barbie notecards? I had to snap a picture of this adorable card she gave me.

Photo Shoot: Laura

When designing our inspiration board for our photoshoot with Christine Barker, I had 3 words in mind: Romantic, Soft and Natural. These were the 3 words that we used for the night. Each model was to represent this idea regardless of their skin texture, hair color or length and even their age.  Stay tuned over the next month for the release of our entire shoot.
