Product of the Week: Press on Eyeshadow

You've heard of press on nails and now this new eyeshadow trend is a similar concept. 

Avon and Sephora are some of the popular brands to carry this concept. These time saving press on's will cost you about $20. You can pick different colors, even funky patterns. Make sure you follow the directions carefully! If you try it, send some photos our way!

Tuesday Tip: Winter Skin

During the winter, my skin gets so dry and irritated. We all want luminous, beautiful skin without having to apply a half bottle of lotion every day. I came up with a great bathtub "soak" to help cure that dryness from Old Man Winter.

I light a few good Smelling candles and turn on the iTunes....

Ingredients:

2 cups Epsom salts (no this will NOT make you drier!)

2 tsp - 4 tsp coconut oil, depending on the dryness of your skin.

A few drops of your favorite essential oils. (I like lavender, or

eucalyptus when I'm feeling yucky. Maybe even vanilla!)

I soak in the tub for about 15 minutes or until the water gets chilly.

- Be careful when you try to get up! Coconut oil makes the tub

slippery, but will easily wash away with soap and water!-

Mondays with Mindy: Unveil the Terminolgy

SO you're planning your wedding. When deciding on your look, often people ask, "Are you wearing a veil?" Here are some things you may want to know before deciding on the answer. A veil should be the finishing touch on your wedding day look.

The Bird Cage


This is a shorter style veil usually made from tulle or wide netting (shown). What a chic way to frame your face. The secret to pulling off this wow- factor is letting the edge fall just below the nose. No need to worry with this hassle free look!

The Fingertip 

Of all the veils, the finger tip length is the most poplar. Not only are there several places to wear this type of veil (crown, just above your up-do, below your up-do), but this type compliments most dresses, hence why it's so popular. 

The Cathedral

These forever flowing beauties are the grandest of them all. Draping well past the length of the gown, these veils aren't the easiest to manage but they are some of the most intriguing to photograph. 

The Blusher

This term refers to the piece of fabric which is pulled over to cover your face. Think of the classic scene where the father of the bride lifts the veil from the brides face before giving her away. A blusher can also be used with a double-tier veil where the top layer is pulled over the face. 

The Pouf

This very trendy, very "right now" look is designed as a gathered piece of tulle into a hairpiece. It adds retro fullness and height. These were originally popular in the 1960's. 

The Mantilla

The Mantilla ( man-tea-ya) is usually made from a circular piece of lace or tulle with heavy lace edging. It's held in place by a comb on the top of the head to create a dramatic, romantic face framing look. These veils originated in Spanish culture.

The Fascinator 

Although these are not technically a veil, they are increasing in popularity in the place of veils. Maybe it's due to the very public Royal wedding?? The word originally referred to a lacy head covering but made mostly from feathers. Nowadays, it refers to a large hair decoration with elaborate fabrics, trimmings, and decorations.
