With Pinterest, Wedding Blogs, and TV shows galore, weddings have gone from simple events to totally detailed celebrations. Weddings are now being styled to mirror the couples' personalities and relationships. So what's trending for 2013? Here are a few wedding trends people will be sure to see this year!
The Lounge: Couples are now creating a separate area where guests can relax, mingle, and entertain themselves. If there are any activities outside the norm, a lounge is the perfect spot for the fun to take place...think photo booths, make your own drink stations and see below for more entertainment ideas!
Entertainment: Couples are putting more emphasis on FUN this year. Crowd-pleasers like photo booths, kissing booths, and caricatures; Stations such as cigar rolling, late night munchies, and make your own s'mores; and Outdoor activities like corn hole, hula hooping, and ice cream trucks are all the rage. It's time to get all those non-dancers involved in the fun!
Patterns: In 2013, incorporating patterns into the wedding color scheme will be a hit! Gingham, polka dots, stripes, chevron, plaid, and paisley will be hot! Using patterns on table linens, ties, and even bridesmaids dresses will be seen more and more. This will add so many possibilities to color schemes, it almost seems endless. Just don't go overboard!
The Localized Wedding: This year, couples will support their own neighborhoods by using ingredients and items found locally. Think farmers markets and local wine and cheese shops. Not only does this help out your area's businesses, but what better way to show off the personalities of the the couple?
Virtual Guests: With people moving further and further away and technology improving more and more, couples no longer need to stress over guests who can't attend their weddings. Live streaming your wedding is a great way to include those who won't be in attendance. And everything is seen live so its as close to actually being there as one can get!
We will be attending numerous weddings this year and all I can say is, if I get to be a part of any of the trends this year, I will be ecstatic! But patterns, fun entertainment, and local treats are sure to please any guest this year!
